‘The Exorcist’ Adds ‘Deadpool’ Star Brianna Hildebrand as a Season 2 Series Regular

From Deadpool to demons!   Negasonic Teenage Warhead actor Brianna Hildebrand will be joining The Exorcist as one of the female leads opposite another newcomer John Cho during the series’ second season.  Deadline reported the news on Wednesday afternoon.

Season 2 of The Exorcist picks up with Father Tomas Ortega (Alfonso Herrera) and Marcus Keane (Ben Daniels) on a road-trip searching for evil.  They find themselves on a private island off the coast of Seattle where they meet Andrew Kim (Cho), a former child psychologist who runs a group home for five at-risk foster children, one of which is being overtaken by a powerful and evil force.

Hildebrand will play one of the foster children in the group home who is on the verge of becoming an adult.  Her character’s name is Verity and, she is close to turning 18 years old.  Once she turns 18, her time at the home will be over.  Verity is described as having a tough exterior but a soft spot in her heart for her foster brothers and sisters.  She would die for her siblings and for Andrew Kim (Cho).

The series The Exorcist was created by Jeremy Slater and was a surprise hit in its first season.  The series survived the doubt of fans who loved the classic original horror film by maintaining a truly captivating story.  There’s no word yet on when the series will be returning for season 2 however, you can bet that with San Diego Comic-Con just a week away, there should be some announcements coming soon.
