‘That Walking Dead’: Did Eugene Record Dwight’s Plan?

This past episode, Time for After, showed Eugene standing by Negan’s side while Dwight is trapped in the walkers surrounding the Sanctuary.

With all of the action going on in the episode, you might have missed a tiny detail.

When Eugene is setting up the glider to draw the walkers away from the Sanctuary, he had a boombox speaker that he used to record his plan. Dwight interrupted him saying “Don’t turn around,” but Eugene was still holding the tape recorder.

Dwight then proceeded to reveal his mission to Eugene.

What if Eugene was still recording when Dwight was explaining himself? If he was, then Eugene has concrete evidence proving that Dwight is the double agent. Even though he knew that Dwight was the traitor, he didn’t tell Negan when he had the chance.

But, should someone find or overhear that recording, Dwight is finished. Odds are that the next person that hears Dwight’s plan won’t hold back on telling Negan. Eugene would most likely go down too, since he held onto the information.

The fact that Eugene didn’t rat out Dwight means there is still hope for him to rejoin Rick and Alexandria, right? I guess we’ll find out next week during the mid-season finale.

Do you think Eugene will rat out Dwight?
