Stranger Things star David Harbour has a history of making internet-based bets which typically end with the actor paying up on a promise made to some lucky fans.
So far this year, Harbour has posed for some senior class photos with a super fan after he challenged her to get 25k retweets on her tweet asking him to do so. Shortly following, a fan tweeted asking Harbour to officiate her wedding which is coming up this September and Harbour jumped right in with a challenge and another promise. This time, if the fan is able to get 125k retweets, Habour promises to get ordained and officiate her wedding, assuming he’s given the first piece of cake at the reception to follow – a challenge which the fan completed in just a short amount of time.
This time, however, Harbour is the one that made the challenge himself. After tweeting to Green Peace asking how many retweets it would take for him to be able to travel with them to visit penguins in their natural habitat, the internet rallied around him. It didn’t take much time at all for Harbour to reach the 200k goal set by the conservation organization.
Hmm, if you get over 200k we’ll ask the Captain if you can join our expedition to the Antarctic and dance with the penguins. #StrangerThings have happened https://t.co/qT78aIcKOw pic.twitter.com/LmmLceE17J

Just a few weeks later, Harbour was on his way, tagging along with Green Peace to find real live penguins! What had originally started out as just a cool thing to do soon turned into a conservation effort. Harbour posted an update yesterday sharing how this trip and the beauty of Antarctica has humbled him. Check out the video below:

But, of course, you can’t expect Harbour to travel all the way to Antarctica and not do what he set out to accomplish. Shortly after the above tweet, he posted a video of himself pulling off some real Happy Feet inspired moves. Watch below as Harbour does the Hopper dance with the penguins!
