‘Stranger Things’ Just Revealed Season 3’s Episode Titles and Our Brain is Spinning

It’s been exactly 1 year, 1 month, and 13 days since season 2 of Stranger Things dropped on Netflix. Since we obviously binged it all one day, that means that it’s been 1 year, 1 month and 13 days since we’ve been anxiously waiting on season 3.
Well, taking the Sunday Scaries literally, Stranger Things just released a new teaser for the upcoming season and while there isn’t any actual footage, it reveals quite a lot about what to expect by unveiling the titles of the eight episodes. They captioned the teaser “In the summer of 1985, the adventure continues.”

Here are the episode titles listed in order:
- Suzie, Do You Copy
- The Mall Rats
- The Case of the Missing Lifeguard
- The Sauna Test
- The Source
- The Birthday
- The Bite
- The Battle of Starcourt
It’s safe to say that we have some serious questions. Who is Suzie? Why is the lifeguard missing? A sauna? Who gets bit?? So far the only footage that’s been released for the critically acclaimed series was an upbeat and nostalgia triggering “commercial” for Hawkins’ new shopping mall. It featured a cameo of Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) working at an ice cream store in the food court alongside Stranger Things newcomer Maya Hawke.
Since there’s an episode called “The Mall Rats” and the season three finale is called “The Battle of Starcourt” it’s evident that the mall is going to be just as big of a player this season as the town of Hawkins itself. While fans probably weren’t expecting season three to be all shopping, sundaes, and summer romances, Executive Producer Shawn Levy made sure hammer it home while speaking with The Playlist back in August.
[row]“That would be part of the store, but not at all representative of the season. There’s no question that, as you saw in that infomercial, Starcourt Mall is a part of season 3 – as is summertime. So, season 3 has a really healthy dose of poppy, bright levity and cultural fun, but I can only promise you that season 3 eventually goes places that are darker and unquestionably more action-packed than we’ve ever gone before.”[/row]
In short:
[row]“It would be a mistake for anyone to think that season 3 is the summer of fun and lightness because it’s a whole lot more than that,” he so lovingly added.[/row]
Me:
In addition to Hawke, Stranger Things 3 will also be adding Princess Bride star Cary Elwes and Starship Troopers star Jake Busey to the cast. From executive producers Mike and Ross Duffer, Stranger Things also stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Fin Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Noah Schnapp, and Joe Keery.
What are your theories about the episode titles? Let us know! Stranger Things returns to Netflix in 2019 for season 3!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
