New ‘Stranger Things’ Teaser is a Nostalgic Trip to the Mall

Netflix

We know that something super strange is brewing, yet again, in Hawkins, Indiana, but you wouldn’t know it by the latest teaser Netflix has just released for the upcoming third season of Stranger Things.

The new teaser is about a minute and a half long and takes the viewer on a trip to a totally 80s mall. The teaser takes you on a tour through the Starcourt Mall. The mall is filled with throwback stores like Sam Goody, Claires and more, all sporting their 1980s signage and logos.

Starcourt Mall is even equipped with a state of the art food court which is where we get the first glimpse of one of our favorite Hawkins residents, Steve Harrington. Harrington (played by Joe Keery) is working at an ice cream shop called Scoops Ahoy with a new addition to the Stranger Things family Robin (played by Haya Hawke).

This footage is definitely a big change up from last year’s dark themed teasers and key art, but as every Stranger Things fan knows, things can get bad real fast!

Check out the 80s inspired teaser below:

From Matt and Ross Duffer (the Duffer Bros), the Netflix’s Stranger Things has already begun production on its third season. In addition to Keery, the series stars Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Caleb McClaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Dacre Montgomery (Billy Hargrove), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Cara Buono (Karen Wheeler), Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers) and David Harbour (Jim Hopper). In addition to Hawke, also joining the cast for season three will be Jake Busey (Bruce), and Cary Elwes (Mayor Kline).

No formal release date has been announced yet, but the teaser does drop a hint. At the end of the video, a screen which says “Coming Next Summer,” pops up. Let’s hope that just means that the third season will take place during the summer and not that we have to wait another whole year for its release. Hopefully, more information, and maybe even a full trailer, will be released in the upcoming weeks.
