Steven Spielberg to Tackle DC Comics ‘Blackhawk’ Movie
He’s done with the adventure heroes and he has entered the video game world.
Steven Spielberg is getting ready to jump into the world of DC Comics. The iconic filmmaker is aiming to tackle his very first DC Comics property in the form of the World War II action hero, Blackhawk.
Spielberg, in partnership with Amblin Entertainment, will produce Blackhawk for Warner Bros. Entertainment. He is also bringing David Koepp on to pen the script. Koepp has worked with Spielberg on blockbusters such as Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones.
The series debuted in 1941, and it told the story of an international squadron of heroic pilots led by a man named Blackhawk; who fought the Nazis during World War II.
“We are so proud to be the studio behind Steven Spielberg’s latest hit, and are thrilled to be working with him again on this new action adventure,” said Warner Bros. Pictures Group chairman Toby Emmerich. “We can’t wait to see what new ground he will break in introducing ‘Blackhawk’ to movie audiences worldwide.”
