Stephen Amell Reveals DC Crossover Event Dates!

With a few months left before our favorite CW DC shows make their Fall premiere, Stephen Amell has revealed some details about Arrowverse fans’ most anticipated event of the year!

He shared the following image via social media Tuesday, announcing that the 3-night crossover event will take place on December 9th, 10th and 11th this year.

The Crossover event is known for its different style than the usual episodes of the shows involved, and most importantly for bridging together the main three CW heroes-The Green Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl. In the past, there has even been a musical version of the event.

In the image Stephen Amell shared, there is one new detail that represents the introduction of a brand new character to the universe-it’s a bat signal above the three heroes. The CW is currently developing another series based on Batwoman, so this means that she will be introduced during the crossover event. That couldn’t be a more fitting welcome!

Batwoman will be produced by Caroline Dries, who previously worked on Vampire Diaries as well as Smallville. Geoff Johns will executive produce through his label Mad Ghost Productions. He recently stepped down from his high position at DC Entertainment to free himself up to work more directly on projects like this through his studio in conjunction with DC.

Stephen Amell, The CW’s Green Arrow, spoke about the addition of Batwoman this year at San Diego Comic Con saying,

I think it’s great. The more the merrier. I’ve always taken a lot of pride in the fact that our show has helped-not been detrimental-but helped and lent a hand to other shows. I hope Dave Rapapport nails the Batwoman casting. I hope she’s awesome. I hope their show does ten years.

When asked about the crossover event, he described the difference between this and past years’ event,

We went so big with the crossover, we can’t go bigger. We have to go more about the characters and the story.

Now that we see Batwoman’s involvement in the event, his statement clears up why it will be a bit more laser focused this year!

As the seasons haven’t started yet, there are no specific story line details on what this year’s crossover event will hold, but it’s sure to be epic as usual!

The CW’s Fall season will begin on Tuesday October 9th with the return of The Flash at 8:00 PM and Black Lightning at 9:00 PM. Supergirl premieres Sunday October 14th at 8:00 PM and Arrow on Monday October 15th at 8:00 PM, taking DC’s Legends of Tomorrow‘s old spot. Legends brings up the rear on Monday October 22nd at 9:00 PM.

Other popular shows on The CW like Riverdale, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Supernatural premiere in October as well! They’ve also added new series All American and Charmed to their lineup.

What are your hopes for this year’s crossover event?
