‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Adds Numan Acar

We’ve got a new actor swinging into Spider-Man: Far From Home! Deadline has reported that the sequel to 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming has just cast Numan Acar to star alongside Tom Holland in a mystery role. There aren’t any details as to who Acar will be playing except for the fact that his name will be Dimitri (presumably).

While Jake Gyllenhaal has reportedly been cast to play popular supervillain, Mysterio, who uses his skills as a special effects expert to create illusions as distractions in order to commit crimes, there is another popular Spider-Man villain named Dmitri Smerdyakov, aka Chameleon, in the early issues of the comics. Perhaps that’s who Acar will be playing?

Acar shared a photo on Instagram yesterday hinting at the casting news.

So, far the only other new actor to be officially cast is Curb Your Enthusiasm’s J.B. Smoove, but no details have been revealed about his character other than the fact that it will be a leading part in the ensemble cast. Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and Marisa Tomei are all expected to reprise their roles for the sequel.

Acar will soon be playing a character named Hakim in the upcoming live-action Aladdin from Disney starring Will Smith. He appeared in 2016’s The Great Wall, as well as In the Fade and this year’s 12 Strong with Chris Hemsworth. On the horizon, Acar also will guest star on Amazon’s Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and appear in the science-fiction film In the Shadows.

Taking place minutes after Avengers 4, Far From Home will find everyone’s favorite web-slinger dealing the repercussions and emotional fallout of both Infinity War and Avengers 4 as he and his friends find themselves in London, England.

Spider-Man: Far From Home will be hitting theaters July 5, 2019.
