Ryan Murphy Teases a Murder House/Coven Crossover For ‘American Horror Story’ Season 8

In recent years, American Horror Story has done an impeccable job at keeping their plotlines secret and their fans guessing and begging for the season theme to be revealed. Last season, before the cult theme was revealed, series creator Ryan Murphy used Instagram as his social media of choice to post teaser photos and clues that might lead fans to guess the theme. This year, however, Murphy has already announced the season’s theme and it just might be the best one yet!
On Wednesday, Murphy dropped some serious news about the upcoming eighth season when he posted to Twitter saying, “The Coven/Murder House AHS crossover season won’t be happening next year…because it’s happening THIS YEAR. AHS #8 WITCHES RULE THIS SEPTEMBER”

“Murder House” was the theme for the very first season of American Horror Story (and my personal favorite season of the series) while “Coven” was the theme for the series third season. Both featured an impressive cast including series mainstays Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters. Both Paulson and Peters have been announced as returning for the upcoming season eight. In addition to Paulson and Peters, the legendary Kathy Bates will be returning as well. The three will be leading the cast of the Murder house/coven crossover season.
Recently, Murphy teased the upcoming eighth season as something fans have never seen before from the likes of the American Horror Story crew by saying, “You will see so many fan favorites return that you’ll feel like it’s The Love Boat. It’s a very high concept. It’s a season unlike anything we’ve done because there’s a big hook to it. There’s a huge thing that happens in episode five.”
American Horror Story returns to television this September on FX!
