Have you been missing the always fantastic and hilarious Joel McHale on your screen as much as we have? If the answer is ‘yes’ then we have great news for you because Netflix has answered the McHale call and given him his very own series! The Joel McHale Show With Joel McHale will be a weekly half-hour program featuring celebrity guests, comedy sketches, and video clips.
McHale announced the new series on Twitter this morning by poking some fun at Netflix’s budget and revealing his brand new set, which is actually just a green screen at the moment. “Hey @Netflix: I think you misunderstood when I demanded “a lot of green” for my new show,” he captioned the first look clip.

In addition to McHale, the show will be executive-produced by Bridesmaids director Paul Feig. Fans of The Soup and Community were ecstatic to hear that McHale would be returning to TV as his absence has been felt since both shows ended in 2015.

The fact that Joel McHale is back with a new pop culture show means I can watch the Kardashians without watching any of the Kardashian shows.

Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
