Jeff Goldblum was Almost the Voice of Apple’s Siri

Imagine, if you will, reaching over and grabbing your iPhone in order to ask Siri a question.  “Hey Siri,” you say, awakening the electronic, all-knowning assistant that resides within your cell phone.  You ask your question and Siri begins to respond however, instead of the Siri voice we all know of today, it’s another voice that answers back.  A male voice.  Jeff Goldblum’s, to be exact.  Wouldn’t that be awesome?!  Well, turns out that ALMOST happened!

In a recent interview on the Today Show in Australia, Jeff Goldblum let slip that he was almost the voice of Apple!  Oh, what a world it would be if that had actually happened!  Sadly, Goldblum says that he turned down the offer because he was unfamiliar with who was actually speaking to him.  He said in the interview:

“Steve Jobs called me up a few decades ago to be the voice of Apple.  That was early on, and I did not know it was Steve Jobs.”

Now, not that we’re not happy with the pleasant and calming vocal tones of Susan Bennett (aka the voice who actually is Siri) but seriously, how awesome would it be to have Jeff Goldblum just talking to you on your phone, all the time?

This just seems like a huge missed opportunity.  We can just imagine the conversations that could have been:

“Hey Jeff Siri, what time is my doctor’s appointment?”

“Your, uh, appointment is at, uh, noo-noon.  You’re going to be late.  Must go faster!”

Goldblum has been keeping pretty busy lately.  It was recently announced that he had officially joined the cast for Jurassic World 2, he’s prepping for his role in Thor: Ragnarok and, he did quite possibly the most Goldblum-ish thing ever when he handed out sausages to people in Sydney, Australia because, why not, right?

Would you want your iPhone to have the voice of Jeff Goldblum as Siri?  What other famous voices would you want to see as options for the phone?  Sound off in the comment section below!
