Sony Pictures remake of The Crow has finally landed on a film premiere date.

The film has been surrounded by rumors and speculations but, Sony announced today that the remake helmed by Corin Hardy and starring Game of Thrones and Aquaman star Jason Momoa will be released in theaters on October 11, 2019.

Momoa will be playing the role of Eric Draven which was previously iconically portrayed by Brandon Lee though, back in December of 2017, he told a crowd during a convention panel that he had not yet officially signed on for the film.  The film has been in discussion for quite some time but has had its troubles getting started.  When asked if he had started filming the movie yet, he said, “Have I started filming The Crow yet? I have not even signed on the dotted line yet. I’m sure when those things go through, the world will know. But it would be an honor if it did happen.”  Perhaps that has since changed.  It has been rumored that production on the film was to start in early 2018.

Momoa has even been teasing production via his social media pages.  Later in December of 2017, he posted a video showing that he had received a script for the upcoming film which he flips through.  You can see his name printed on the pages of text.
