J.J. Abrams and Lin Manuel-Miranda Celebrate May The 4th
Broadway’s Hamilton is one of the hottest tickets in NYC right now. In fact, it’s nearly impossible to even get tickets to the show without having to purchase your seats way, WAY in advance. You wouldn’t expect anything less from a musical nominated for a record-breaking 16 Tony Awards this year!
As a result of the extreme popularity, Lin Manuel-Miranda, writer and star of the show, hosts a daily lottery which allows fans a chance at prime seating for a fraction of the costs. Before the winners of the lottery are picked, fans receive a special, unique show, called Ham4Ham, usually involving Manuel-Miranda and a special guest.
Quick Fun fact: Did you know that Lin Manuel-Miranda wrote and voiced the Cantina song in The Force Awakens? Neither did we, until we found this little gem on the internet.
In honor of Star Wars Day, today’s guest was none other than director/producer, J.J. Abrams. Together, Lin Manuel-Miranda and J.J. Abrams perform the Shaggy- esque “It Wasn’t Me” style song Cantina song in the language of Jabba the Hutt, Huttese, in order to honor May the 4th.
Roughly translated to, “No lover lover, it wasn’t me,” check out this Star Wars Day inspired Ham4Ham and May the 4th be with you…. always!
