Is an end in Sight for ‘Vampire Diaries’?

Ian Somerhalder attended Walker Stalker Convention this past weekend, and during his panel he revealed that there may be an end is in sight for Vampire Diaries when he confirmed his leaving the show.
When asked if the series would be ending after season 8, he responded “For me, yes. My role is shifting in the show and we have a lot to do.” Ian said.
The CW hasn’t officially confirmed that the series will be ending but it is likely as Ian has carried it from the beginning.
