‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ Soundtrack Hits as an A Capella Medley

Part of the reason why Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 or Vol. 2 are so epic, aside from them both being stellar films, is because of the awesome collection of classic rock songs which accompany the films.  The bar was set high with the Vol. 1  soundtrack but, Vol. 2  certainly continued the tradition and even further integrated the classic songs into the plot of the film itself creating one of the most emotional scenes of the film.  You walk out of the theater humming the soundtrack and, with that type of musical impact, of course, it didn’t take long for fan tributes and covers to start spawning on the internet.

'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' Soundtrack Hits as an A Capella Medley

Just last week, a group called The Warp Zone released a crazy good a cappella medley highlighting the hits of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 soundtrack.  What makes this video stand out even more is that the group did so in full on cosplay as the Guardians themselves.  The video features Chad Neidt as Star-Lord alongside Michael Schroeder as Yondu, David Odom as Drax the Destroyer, Brian Fisher as Groot, Ryan Tellez as Rocket Raccoon, and Michael Adams Davis as Gamora.

The group kicks off the medley with Fox on the Run by Sweet, which played on the trailer for the film followed by Looking Glass’ Brandy which played a pivotal scene within the film (remember that extremely emotional scene between Peter Quill and Ego?).  The video ends with ELO’s Mr. Blue Sky and Cheap Trick’s Surrender.  Check out the super cool medley and the even cooler cosplay in the video below:

You can find more a capella covers and comedy skits on The Warp Zone’s YouTube channel.
