The Walking Dead alumna Emily Kinney is about to take her music career to the next level. The accomplished actress/sing/songwriter has set a massive North American headlining tour kicking off later this month.
With a brand new album due out in September, Kinney is also taking on a 40-date tour with stops in Nashville, New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and several other cities. You can see her full list of stops and dates HERE.
Her new tour was announced via Shore Fire Media’s social media accounts on Wednesday. Back in July, Kinney dropped a brand-new video for her song Boy Band Hero (which you can watch HERE), the second single off of her upcoming new album.
The album, titled Oh, Jonathan, drops August 24th and is currently available for pre-order. Kinney wrote a message to fans on her Pledge page giving fans some behind-the-scenes insight into her inspirations for the upcoming album. She wrote:
[row]”Since my last album (“This is War”), I’ve spent a lot of time experimenting. I was actually working on a completely different record, but then ‘Oh Jonathan’ just sort of naturally wrote itself. Emotionally, I felt that the relationship had to be seen or hold some weight, something it never got in real life, and so that’s why I felt a strong desire to write all of these songs.
These tracks are extremely autobiographical and while I was recording this record, I learned more about gratitude, steadiness, and the importance of enjoying the process than I ever thought possible.
Thank you for visiting me on Pledge, and I can’t wait to share “Oh Jonathan” with you!
We can’t wait to hear the full album! Make sure you check out EmilyKinneyMusic.com for a full list of tour dates and to purchase tickets to an upcoming show!
