The latest installment of the Fast and Furious franchise, Hobbs and Shaw, is well underway and Dwayne Johnson is taking some time to give The Crown’s Vanessa Kirby some love in an all-new Instagram post. Hobbs and Shaw will find Johnson’s US Diplomatic Security Agent Luke Hobbs forming an unlikely partnership with franchise notorious bad guy Deckard Shaw (Statham), and it looks like Kirby will be stepping in as Shaw’s sister – Hattie. Check out the fierce-looking duo below!

Johnson provided quite the caption alongside the photo:
[row]Building out our Fast & Furious franchise step by step. In our spin-off, HOBBS & SHAW, I have a nice new friend. Meet “Hattie Shaw” played by my homegirl, @vanessa__kirby. Hattie loves the following/ Longs walks on the beach. Being a bad ass MI6 Operative. Drinking tequila with Hobbs. And not in that order. Hattie also happens to be the sister of Deckard Shaw, who’s played by @jasonstatham. It tortures him that his sister Hattie is kickin’ it with Hobbs. His pain 😈 makes me very happy. But what makes me happier is welcoming this crazy talented actress and cool chick to our movie. Havin’ a blast together. Building out the franchise step by step.[/row]
Idris Elba will also be starring in Hobbs and Shaw, taking on the role of the film’s villain. David Leitch (Deadpool 2) will be directing a script from one of the franchise’s regular writer’s Chris Morgan. Neal H. Moritz is producing alongside Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions, which includes Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia. Statham will also be producing with his production company Eponymous Production and partner Chris Morgan.
Kirby recently wrapped up a two-season run on Netflix’s The Crown where she played Princess Margaret and also appeared in 2018’s Mission Impossible – Fallout.
Hobbs & Shaw hits theaters on July 26. Are you excited to see Derek Shaw’s sister hitting the scene? We imagine a pretty hilarious dynamic between the three!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
