We all heard the news that the Divergent franchise will not return to the big screen but you know who didn’t hear that? Some of the stars… Someone did clue them in, but come on, they should’ve been the first to know.

Miles Teller, who plays Peter Hayes, was upset (Whiplash anyone? No just me… ok)  found out about 20 minutes before the news hit the stands.

“When we all signed on for the first one we had every intention of finishing it theatrically. We signed on for x amount of movies and you take that all into consideration. We wanted to see that storyline finish. You know, it’s moving into a different format. So who knows? At this point, it’s a different set of circumstances. We’ll see. I honestly haven’t talked to anybody.”- Teller.

Although he was uncertain about returning, he did comment on the great times he had on the series.

Teller wasn’t the only star kept in the dark, Shailene Woodley, who plays Tris Prior, said she received absolutely no information on the subject.

“Honestly, I was on a plane when all that happened, and I landed, and I’m like, ‘Whoa, what’s going on?”- Woodley.

And even more shocking is that Ansel Elgort, Caleb Prior, implied that the cast won’t be returning for the television movie.

“It’s obviously sad because the cast all really liked each other, but hopefully we can all work together on a different project… I love Shailene and I love Theo [James] and everyone else in the cast. … We didn’t say our goodbyes because we were expecting to do another one together.”- Elgort.

Other stars of the franchise such as Theo James (Four) and Zoe Kravitz (Christina) and Jeff Daniels (David) are yet to speak out about whether or not they would still be prepared to star in a TV movie.

It looks like there is some sorting out that still needs to be done.
