Dave Bautista Says He Isn’t Sure He Wants to Return for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’

Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista has certainly made his feelings regarding director James Gunn’s firing well known. Since the news was announced a little over a month ago, Bautista, who plays Drax in the film franchise, has been quite vocal on his social media pages and in recent interviews declaring his support for the disgraced director.

Despite his feelings on Gunn’s firing, in the past, Bautista has said that, while he strongly disagrees with Disney’s decision, he would continue to fulfill his legal obligations when it comes to the future of the Guardians films. Now, however, he says he’s not sure if he wants to return for the third installment film.

In a recent appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, Bautista spoke a little about special effects makeup used to transform him into Drax as well as the future of the Guardians franchise and his feelings regarding Gunn’s firing. He really dropped a bomb, however, when he admitted that he’s not sure if he wanted to continue working for Disney. Bautista said:

[row]“It’s a bitter-sweet conversation — um, no it’s a bitter-bitter conversation because I’m not really happy with what they’ve done with James Gunn. They’re putting the movie off. It’s on hold indefinitely. To be honest with you I don’t know if I want to work for Disney.”[/row]

Shortly after Gunn’s firing, the full cast of Guardians of the Galaxy released a joint letter supporting the director and requesting that he be reinstated. A recent report, however, states that Disney is standing firm on their decision and will not be rehiring Gunn. Marvel and Disney have yet to release an official statement regarding the future of the film.
