‘Bates Motel’ Preview: ‘The Convergence of the Twain’
The fifth season of Bates Motel has only just started, but we’re already in full-blown Psycho mode.
Last episode we learned that Romero – who’s currently in prison – hired a hitman to take out Norman. And the preview for next week’s episode shows us that Norman is not going to take that lying down.
The preview starts off with Norman visiting Romero at the prison. While we only get bits and pieces of their conversation, there’s certainly a hint of passive-aggressiveness from Norman.
“I’m still alive!” Norman taunts. Pretty sure that won’t sit well with Romero.
But that’s not all that happens…
Remember Madeleine from the premiere? Well, Norman’s headed to dinner with her, and we all know how that’s likely to turn out. Heck, even Mother knows it’s a bad idea. In fact, she herself gets a bit passive-aggressive as Norman sets out on his date. And all through dinner, it seems, Norman and Mother take turns giving Madeleine a whirl.
Then we get the most memorable shot of the entire preview: Norman in full Mother regalia asserting once again that he (or Mother?) is still alive. But who might he be talking to? Probably Caleb, who we see standing in the shadows and gazing up at the Bates’ home. Or it could be Dylan. Or maybe both! We’ll see…
