‘Arrow’: Season 5 Finale May Have Unsuspected ‘Consequences’

Arrow certainly has a history of keeping the fans guessing and running in circles, especially when it comes to who will die or who the bad guy is. This past season was no different. After an extreme plot twist, it was revealed that Adrian Chase was Prometheus instead of his comic book alter-ego, Vigilante. Arrow fans really didn’t know what to expect for the remainder of the season.
In the Season 5 finale, Prometheus made sure that Oliver would suffer. In fact, he dedicated his life to making sure that happened. After shooting himself in the head, the vest that he was wearing triggered a dead man’s switch, engulfing the entire island of Lian Yu in flames. While Oliver was safe on a boat with his son, we have yet to see the fate of Oliver’s beloved family and friends, who were all still trapped on the island.
Several theories have begun in regards to who is alive and who is not. Many people claim that the season regulars are safe. However, according to EP Marc Guggenheim, that may not necessarily be the case.
“A lot of the discussion that we’ve had and a lot of the discussion we’ve seen online is very binary — people either live or they’ll die,” Guggenheim told Entertainment Weekly‘s “Superhero Insider.” “There are other consequences that can come out of what happened at the end of [episode] 523. While everyone is focused on one thing, you know us on Arrow, we may be doing something else.”
So rather than assuming that everyone is either dead or alive, try to consider the in-between factors… whatever they may be! I wonder what direction these writers are planning on taking us in next.
