A ‘Sinister’ and ‘Insidious’ Crossover May be in the Works
As if they aren’t creepy enough on their own, a crossover between horror movie franchises Insidious and Sinister may very much be in the cards for Blumhouse Productions.
The production company has been very creative in developing the eerie possession centric horror movies, and Producer Jason Blum even has his hands in projects such as Paranormal Activity and Ouija.
The first Sinister, starring Ethan Hawke did quite well in the box office which led to the release of the sequel, Sinister 2. The Insidious franchise is quite healthy itself, currently on its fourth film: Insidious: The Last Key.
In a recent interview with CinePop, Jason Blum discussed that a crossover between the two horror films had been previously discussed but never took off ground. However, he still has a strong desire to revisit the idea at some point in the future:
“I hope so. I want to. We almost did Insidious and Sinister and I still feel like we might do that so, I think so. I think we’re going to cross our worlds at some point. I don’t know how yet but we’re gonna try.”
This would absolutely be one of the creepiest horror movies to hit the shelves, if it ever does take off. The films on their own are enough to give one the chills, so one can only wonder what a crossover like this could bring.
