Zachary Quinto Follows in Leonard Nimoy’s Footsteps by Signing on to Host ’In Search of’ Series Reboot

Now, this is a reboot we can get behind!  On Tuesday, it was announced that the History channel is bringing back the 1970’s classic docuseries In Search Of.  The series is planned for 10 episodes with Emmy-nominated Zachary Quinto signed on to host and produce!

The original series aired from 1977 to 1982 and was originally hosted by The Twilight Zone‘s Rod Serling.  After Serling’s death in 1975, Star Trek‘s Leonard Nimoy took over hosting duties.

The series explored a vast variety of topics including mythical creatures, mysteries and scientific phenomena.  According to Deadline, the new series promises to do much of the same – exploring fascinating and unexplained phenomena from all over the globe.  Quinto will interview witnesses, scholars, scientists and more on a variety of topics such as UFOs, time travel and artificial intelligence.

The new In Search Of hails from Propagate Content, Universal Television Alternative Studio and Before the Door Pictures.  In addition to Quinto, Propagate Content’s Ben Silverman, Howard Owens and Brett-Patrick Jenkins, and Eddie Schmidt will executive produce along with Zachary Behr, the executive producer for History.
