‘Arrow’: Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards on what’s next for ‘Olicity’
This past week on Arrow, fans got the answer to the question they have been asking since the Season 5 finale. That question being, Are Oliver and Felicity back together?
In a recent interview with EW, Stephen Amell had the answer:
“They are back together. Right now, they’re back together, but I don’t know [what’s next].”
After sharing a brief moment in the Season 6 premiere, it was implied that the pair was taking things slow and putting their relationship on hold so that William could take time to adjust to his new life, following the death of his mother, Samantha Clayton.
“I don’t think they can. I just don’t think you can with anyone you have history with and someone you really, really care for. It’s usually one to 100. They do really love each other and they’ve hopefully solidified their friendship and hopefully can grow off the base of that.”
“They have a little bit of a back and forth because he says, ‘You can do what you want to do,’ and that’s a big thing with Oliver this year, is he trusts people to do their job,. ‘Do it, take over, go for it.’ And he and Felicity get into it a little bit because he says, ‘Look, you can do what you want, just don’t do it without backup. Use the team, that’s what they’re there for.’ The fact that she’s doesn’t gives him pause a little bit.”
We saw how that all went down last year, when Felicity joined up with Helix and started going a bit rogue all on her own. For awhile, it caused some tension between herself and her teammates. Hopefully, we won’t see too much of that again this year.
Arrow returns on Thursday, November 2nd at 9PM/EST on The CW.
