Stephen Amell Announces a ‘Help for Houston’ Crowdrise Fundraiser to Benefit Those Impacted by Hurricane Harvey

It has been absolutely heartbreaking to witness the devastation happening in Houston, Texas in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.  Much of the city is being swept away by floods, residents have been forced to evacuate and rescue efforts have begun for those who could not make it to safety in time.  People from around the world are beginning to join together in an effort to provide aid to those impacted by this unstoppable force of nature.

On Tuesday evening, Arrow star Stephen Amell announced that he and the folks of Nocking Point will be spearheading a fundraising campaign called Help for Houston which will benefit those impacted by the storm.  In a Facebook Live video session, Amell mentions that the area of Houston and Corpus Christie have special meaning to him personally especially since his wife Cassandra grew up in the area and many of the Nocking Point wine club members reside there as well.

In an effort to do as much as he can for the community and for the folks who need it most, Amell announced the start of a fundraising page benefiting the Greater Houston Community Foundation Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund (GHCF).  On the Crowdrise page, Amell writes the following:

It’s devastating to see what is happening in Houston with Hurricane Harvey. Many of our amazing club members are from the Houston area and Stephen’s wife, Cassandra grew up there as well. We hope to help in any way possible by rallying our Nocking Point friends to donate to this worthy cause. Whether you can give a little, or a lot, or even just a share to help spread the word, every bit helps! All proceeds will go to the Greater Houston Community Foundation Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.

About the GHCF:
