Zack Snyder, the director of Man of Steel, recently marked the tenth anniversary of the film by sharing a new image of Henry Cavill‘s Clark Kent/Superman on Vero. The photo was accompanied by a caption expressing gratitude to the fans for joining him on the journey. This celebration comes just before the highly anticipated release of The Flash, a movie that promises to explore DC’s onscreen multiverse. Notably, The Flash features the return of Michael Shannon as General Zod, reprising his role from Man of Steel.
In a recent interview, Shannon expressed his admiration for Zack Snyder and his appreciation for the opportunity to work on Man of Steel. However, he also wanted to ensure that he had Snyder’s blessing before joining The Flash. After reaching out to Snyder, Shannon received his approval, allowing him to participate in the project. Shannon commended Snyder’s generosity and gave his enthusiastic consent to be a part of The Flash.
Zack Snyder’s collaboration with Netflix, which began with Army of the Dead in 2021, has sparked various film and television endeavors. Among them is the highly anticipated two-part epic, Rebel Moon. Additionally, there are multiple spinoffs related to Army of the Dead, including the prequel film Army of Thieves, the upcoming sequel Planet of the Dead, and an animated series called Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas. Snyder is also involved in Twilight of the Gods, an animated series based on Norse mythology.
In a 2021 interview, Snyder expressed his hope that his future projects would primarily focus on original IP rather than the DC universe. While he has a deep affection for the DC universe, his current creative focus revolves around Rebel Moon and Army of the Dead. He envisions original and exciting content as the primary direction for his future endeavors.
