Yvette Nicole Brown is making her screenwriting debut! The Community alum is not only a fantastic actress, she’s also an amazing writer.
Always a Bridesmaid is a romantic comedy indie film that follows Corina James who has always been the bridesmaid. Deciding to no longer be one the sideline, she bravely re-enters the dating scene. The film ponders the question, ‘Is love and marriage for everyone?’ And if so, how do you get over your own stuff in order to find and keep your one?
Javicia Leslie (God Friended Me) and Jordan Calloway (Riverdale, Black Lightning) star in the film. Brown, herself, will play a supporting role along with Marcel Spears (The Neighborhood), Brandon Micheal Hall (God Friended Me), Affion Crockett (The Wedding Ringer), Michelle Mitchenor (Lethal Weapon), Bernard David Jones (The Mayor), Tosin Morohunfola (The Chi), Meagan Tandy (Survivors Remorse), James Bland (Giants) Richard Lawson (For Colored Girls, How Stella Got Her Groove Back), and Telma Hopkins (Family Matters).
Brown is serving as the executive producer for the project with Trey Haley (The Family Business) as the director.
The film, currently in production, is expected to be released in October 2019.
