‘Young Sheldon’ Recap “A Perfect Score and a Bunsen Burner Marshmallow”
Uh-oh Sheldon is in trouble, so is George. They were both called to the principal’s office. It’s good news though! Sheldon got a perfect score on the PSAT and colleges want to meet him.
Mary wants to discuss their 10-year-old going to college. George is for it, Mary not so much and Meemaw is staying out of it. Sheldon pleads to go and plans to go live with Dr. Sturgis and go to East Texas Tech.
Dr. Sturgis agrees and offers to do a one night trial run before Sheldon enrolls in school. They have a great time watchign TV and roasting marshmallows on a Bunsen Burner. Sheldon has a nightmare and Dr. Sturgis falls on his way to check on him. Sheldon attempts to make tea but sets Dr. Sturgis’s house on fire. They’ve decided the arrangement won’t work out after all.
Mary drops Sheldon off and immediately feels empty. Her other kids are so independent compared to Sheldon. They don’t need her help or want to hang out. Meemaw doesn’t want to hang out either. She even bakes Brenda Sparks a pie hoping to bond.
Mary even tries to seduce George to fill the void but can’t stop crying. When Sheldon comes home after the fire, they pick up where they left off.
Only a year and a half of high school! Why is Sheldon so lucky? High school was a nightmare, I would’ve done anything to graduate early. But I’m not a genius, bummer. Dr. Sturgis is so cute. Sheldon almost burns his house down and he’s just as smiley as always. Thankfully they both realize that the two of them living together is a bad idea.
