‘Yellowstone’ Fans, Kevin Costner’s Attorney Has Revealed the Truth About if He Will Remain on the Show

Get ready, Yellowstone fans! When the show resumes for season 5 part 2, the Dutton family will be facing some serious issues.

Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Jamie’s (Wes Bentley) quarrel may lead to tragedy, but John Dutton (Kevin Costner)’s biggest concern right now lies in the Yellowstone Ranch – he stands to lose his entire legacy. In the midseason finale, a bacterial disease called brucellosis threatened his cattle population so severely that he had no choice but to send them down to Texas. Such action puts Beth and Rip closer than ever before towards reuniting with Jimmy on the 6666 Ranch; however, it could also result in complete financial ruin for the Duttons as leasing their land is an option more feasible by each passing day.

After an exhilarating midseason 5 cliffhanger, viewers are eager to find out what’s in store for the show’s characters. Although there will be a waiting period before new episodes arrive, that doesn’t mean the series is finished; exciting events lie ahead!

When is the Yellowstone season 5 episode 9 release date?

After a long wait, The Duttons will finally return with Season 5 Episode 9 in the summer of 2023. As there is no official premiere date yet, Paramount Network released a tantalizing teaser to keep fans intrigued and excited until then! In December, Yellowstone cast member Piper Perabo (who plays Summer) told TV Guide that she had no idea what was coming after Episode 8 – suggesting that filming for Part 2 may not have even started just yet. Until we know more details about this highly anticipated season, stay tuned for future updates on when you can catch all the drama unfold.

How many episodes are in Yellowstone season 5 part 2?

Taylor Sheridan, showrunner of the popular series’ supersized season, informed Variety that this year’s installment is comprised of 14 episodes, divided into two parts by Paramount Network.

Though viewers were kept in the dark about it at first, fans of Yellowstone now know that the show’s fifth season aired its initial eight episodes until January 1st, 2023. With only six episodes left to air, they can expect those installments to be broadcasted on their televisions sometime between late May and September of this year!

Is Kevin Costner leaving the Yellowstone cast?

On February 6, Deadline reported that the co-creator and showrunner of Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan had decided to end the series with its fifth season. This decision came after Kevin Costner asked Paramount Network to film the remaining six episodes in one week; however, this request was ultimately denied. Instead of continuing on with Yellowstone’s original storyline and characters, sources informed Deadline that Paramount Network wanted a spinoff featuring Matthew McConaughey as another way for them to wrap up the hit TV show.

Shortly after, Paramount Network released a statement denying that Kevin was leaving Yellowstone after his rumored request caused “frustration” and “morale problems” with the rest of the cast.

“We have no news to report. Kevin Costner is a big part of Yellowstone and we hope that’s the case for a long time to come,” a Paramount Network spokesperson told Deadline. “Thanks to the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan, we are always working on franchise expansions of this incredible world he has built. Matthew McConaughey is a phenomenal talent with whom we’d love to partner.”

Most recently, on February 21, Kevin’s attorney, Marty Singer, spoke out on his behalf about the allegations.

“The idea that Kevin was only willing to work one week on the second half of season 5 of Yellowstone is an absolute lie,” he told Puck News. “It’s ridiculous — and anyone suggesting it shouldn’t be believed for one second. As everyone who knows anything about Kevin is well aware, he is incredibly passionate about the show and has always gone way above and beyond to ensure its success.”
