‘Yellowstone’ actor Cole Hauser champions scholarship program to aid children of fallen soldiers

Cole Hauser, renowned for his role in the series “Yellowstone,” is deeply committed to giving back to the military community. He has made it his mission to support the children of fallen soldiers through the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, as he revealed in an interview on “CBS Mornings.”

Hauser expressed his strong belief in providing second chances to kids who have experienced the profound loss of a family member. He considers it his way of serving the country and honoring both the soldiers and their families. The Special Operations Warrior Foundation plays a pivotal role in this endeavor by offering college scholarships to children who have lost a loved one in the line of duty. Over the years, the foundation has granted more than 1,000 scholarships.

Hauser has forged meaningful connections with service members and has even made personal visits to the Walter Reed Medical Center. He recounted staying in touch with several individuals, some of whom unfortunately succumbed to suicide, while others continue to lead fulfilling lives. These experiences profoundly impacted Hauser, providing him with valuable lessons during his formative years.

In addition to his acting career, Hauser remains actively involved in the Special Operations Warrior Foundation as a member of the board of directors. He closely collaborates with Clay Hutmacher, the foundation’s president, to extend scholarships to families in need within the special operations community. Hauser’s ultimate goal is to alleviate the burden faced by military families who have endured immense loss, recognizing the significant relief it brings.

Hauser’s dedication to this cause is deeply rooted in his own military background within his family. His late grandfather, Milton Sperling, served as a Marine in World War II and was also a prominent Hollywood producer and screenwriter. Hauser aims to carry forward his grandfather’s legacy and instill the values of compassion and assistance in his own children.

For Hauser, the human element of offering help and witnessing the transformative power of grace in someone’s life is an unparalleled experience. As the latter half of “Yellowstone” Season 5 approaches with new episodes scheduled for release this summer on Paramount Network, Hauser continues his passionate mission to support the military community and make a positive impact in the lives of those who have sacrificed so much.
