We have some more exciting casting news for the upcoming second season of Supergirl!  Lynda Carter, best known for her role as Diana Prince (aka. Wonder Woman) on the 1970’s Wonder Woman series, has been cast in a reoccurring role on the CW’s Supergirl.

Carter will first appear in episode three of the second season and will be playing the role of President of the United States.  According to The Hollywood Reporter, last season, producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg said that it would be a dream casting for Carter to play the role of President.  They had first envisioned Carter playing this role in season one however, due to scheduling conflicts, this did not work out.

In an interview at the end of season one, THR spoke with executive producer Ali Adler about the possibility of casting Carter on the series to which she replied, “It would be incredible to have her on the show, a true honor, but it depends on her schedule.”

Carter’s appearance on Supergirl will be her first role back on television since guest starring on Two and a Half Men in 2013.  Prior to that role, she also did a guest spot on Smallville in 2007.  The casting announcement comes about a week after news that Tyler Hoechlin will also be joining the cast as Superman.

Supergirl returns to television on Oct. 10th, at 8 p.m. on its new network home, The CW.
