You ain’t never had a friend like Will Smith?

The actor is reportedly in early talks to voice the Genie himself in Guy Ritchie‘s live-action Aladdin reboot. Smith, who is eyeing a family-friendly film as his next project, was circling the lead role in another Disney classic, Dumbo, but walked away from a deal due to scheduling conflicts. The studio is also reportedly planning to cast newcomers in the roles of Aladdin and Jasmine.

The role of the Genie was most famously voiced by the late, great Robin Williams in the 1992 animated film as well as 1996’s Aladdin and the King of Thieves.

What do you think about Will possibly playing the Genie?
