It seems I’m a little behind the eight ball about King Arthur: Legend of the Sword but it’s upcoming release date and an updated interview with Guy Ritchie by Entertainment Weekly warrants the movie a little attention.
It is very Guy Ritchie-esque (think Snatch, Sherlock Holmes and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels), even in the trailer there’s that stop, rewind, story narrative. It should put a good edge to the time-worn tale of King Arthur, as will the 300 foot elephants? I get fantasy, but elephants in Great Britain seems a stretch and the realist in me would like to point out that you’d need an awfully big ship to get them across the English Channel – assuming King Arthur was not alive during Pangea.
The line-up of actors and actresses in this film almost guarantees it wont be a flop, especially with Guy Ritchie directing. There’s Jax from SOA, Little Finger and Roose Bolton, the Young Pope, the mermaid from Stranger Tides, Hector from Troy, Solomon Vandy, and the assistant from Jurassic World that gets eaten at the end of the movie.
It’s going to be great, check out the trailer below!
I write what-evah.
