Great news, Will & Grace fans! The hit revival of the popular NBC series has been so beloved by critics and audiences that the network decided to officially renew it for a season 3 on top of adding extra episodes to the upcoming season 2! This means that fans can expect 18 all-new episodes for season 3 as well as the special treat of 5 bonus episodes for season 2, which will be premiering this fall.
“As far as I’m concerned, we can’t get enough of ‘Will & Grace’ and 23 more episodes is music to my ears. We’re eternally grateful that Debra, Eric, Sean and Megan feel the same way and wanted to keep this good thing going. I’m overwhelmed by the euphoric response the new show has received from the press and the audience, and my hat is off to the unrivaled writing team of Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, as well as the brilliant directing of Jimmy Burrows, for consistently delivering one of the best shows on television,” said NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt.
Despite having been off the air since 2006, the Will & Grace revival, which premiered last year, has been one of the most successful returning series when compared to the attempted reboots and revivals in the past and on the horizon. It’s been nominated for 2018 Emmy, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild awards and is bringing in impressive ratings every week, making the renewal really no surprise.
Are you excited for season 3? We couldn’t be happier to have more Debra Messing, Sean Hayes, Eric McCormack, and Megan Mullally on our screens!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
