I am, excited, about this-to say the least. Yes I have seen the musical 9 times. Yes, I named our family dog Glinda.

The ladies who will play the green Elphaba and pink & popular Glinda are unknown as of now, but the roles were originated by Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenoweth when the show opened at The Gershwin Theater in New York in 2003. The movie version has been rumored and talked about since 2008!
If I had my best guess, I think they would consider Kristen Bell for Glinda-although Megan Hilty would be my top pick! Elphaba is a tough one. I’m sure there are many amazing actresses who could blow it out of the water!
Winnie Holzman and Stephen Schwartz, who turned the Gregory Maguire novel into the hit musical are working on the screenplay. Stephen Daldry will direct and Marc Platt who helmed Into The Woods will produce the film.
Who is exciterated?! Who do you think will play the leading witches of Oz?
