When Will We Get A “PlayStation Direct”?

So if anyone knows me at all, I am a huge PlayStation nerd. I buy just about everything they put out (I even own a Vita TV), and I can be a bit biased when it comes to them versus Microsoft or Nintendo, although I have all of their consoles and handhelds as well and I have ironed out that bit of me. When all is said and done though, I always prefer my PlayStation stuff, and I have been painstakingly waiting for news on when I can get my hands next batch of games.

While I understand the reasoning for Sony deciding to step away from E3, we have not heard much of anything besides an interview with Shawn Layden, Chairman of SIE Worldwide Studios. He mentions an event called Destination PlayStation, which has been a buyer show for several years. While that may be a time you talk with the people responsible for your sales, it would not be a bad idea to hold a streaming event from there in order to assure your fan base, “we have things covered and here is new info on what is coming in 2019”.

So far the only thing promised is Days Gone in April, and while I am excited for that we need to know about a few things shown off last year. Death Stranding has apparently had several behind closed door demos, which can sometimes speak to the game reaching its final stages of development. Ghosts Of Tsushima was shown last year running on a PS4 Pro, and while it was a demo, that means it is not being held back for PS5 one would assume. Even The Last Of Us Part II had a demo last year. I mentioned it in my beginning year piece about Sony just releasing everything, and I still think that needs to happen.

The biggest question is, when will we see these games again, or find out about release windows? If you have not hosted Destination PlayStation yet Sony, you should do it there. All of your fans are waiting to hear about what’s new, and we are ready to spend on what you have coming next.
