What to Watch: Films for Fall

Happy fall! I absolutely love fall. Sweaters, pumpkin, falling leaves, what’s not to love about fall? The weather gets crisp and cool, hot chocolate fills my veins and of course, football! Even though fall is my favorite and I plan on doing everything I can to celebrate this wonderful time of year, you’ll still catch me in the theaters. Especially this weekend, I’m thinking a double feature.

The House with a Clock in its Walls

A young orphan named Lewis Barnavelt aids his magical uncle in locating a clock with the power to bring about the end of the world.

Fahrenheit 11/9

Filmmaker Michael Moore examines the current state of American politics, particularly the Donald Trump presidency and gun violence while highlighting the power of grassroots democratic movements.

Life Itself

As a young New York couple goes from college romance to marriage and the birth of their first child, the unexpected twists of their journey create reverberations that echo over continents and through lifetimes.

Assassination Nation

After a malicious data hack exposes the secrets of the perpetually American town of Salem, chaos descends and four girls must fight to survive while coping with the hack themselves.

The Sisters Brothers

In 1850s Oregon, a gold prospector is chased by the infamous duo of assassins, the Sisters brothers.

Colette is pushed by her husband to write novels under his name. Upon their success, she fights to make her talents known, challenging gender norms.

Love, Gilda

In her own words, comedienne Gilda Radner looks back and reflects on her life and career. Weaving together recently discovered audiotapes, interviews with her friends, rare home movies and diaries read by modern-day comediennes, LOVE Gilda offers a unique window into the honest and whimsical world of a beloved performer whose greatest role was sharing her story.

My Son

The disappearance of his child sends a man on a dark path to find the truth.
