What does the Disney/Fox Merger Mean for R-Rated Marvel Movies?

Over the past year and a half, Marvel movies recently opened up the door to the R-Rated world with films like Deadpool and Logan hitting the big screens. Now that Disney has officially acquired 21st Century Fox, we will see a whole new world of Marvel now that selected characters will officially be able to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One of those characters, being our ever so favorite snarky and sassy hero – Deadpool.

Deadpool completely dominated the box office when it was released in February 2016 grossing approximately $783.1 Million Dollars. Fans were especially in love with the fact that it was entirely a more ‘adult’ tone of a film, and the humor behind it was classic Deadpool.

The question is, now that Disney has officially merged with 21st Century Fox… what will become of our R-Rated Superhero films? Fans have expressed some concerns that Disney’s family-friendly brand will change the adult-themed comic book movies. However, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld doesn’t seem to share that same concern.
