The upcoming Charlie’s Angels reboot film continues to take shape with the announcement that Westworld‘s Jonathan Tucker will be joining the project.
Just last week, it was also announced that the legendary Patrick Stewart was said to be in final negotiations to join the female-driven film in the role of Bosley. In addition to Tucker and Stewart, the film also stars Elizabeth Banks, Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott (Aladdin) and newcomer Ella Balinska as the titular Angels. In addition to starring and directing, Banks also penned the script along with Jay Basu. Banks also produces along with Max Handelman (her husband).
From Sony’s Columbia Pictures, the new film is going global with the Angels. In the original 70s television series and in the 2000 and 2003 films, the Angels trio worked for a detective agency run by the elusive Charlie Townsend. In the new film, the agency will focus on security and intelligence services all around the world.
Tucker’s casting reunites him with Banks as the two previously appeared together in the 2010 film The Next Three Days. He most recently had a recurring role on HBO’s Westworld and FX’s Snowfall. Tucker also starred in DirecTV’s Kingdom and can be seen next on Showtime’s upcoming drama City on a Hill.
The New Charlie’s Angels movie will be reporting to theaters for duty on Sept. 27, 2019.
