‘Watchmen’ Pilot Ordered at HBO

Big news for fans of Alan Moore’s Watchmen!

TVLine is reporting that HBO has given the order for a Watchmen pilot. The official word comes after a summer of speculating that a potential serial adaptation of the dark graphic novel was coming down the line. Not only is the premium cable network bringing Watchmen to the small screen, but they are also bringing The Leftover‘s Damon Lindelof back to HBO. He is set to write and executive produce.

It’s not the first time Watchmen has been adapted. Zack Snyder directed the 2009 film, written by David Hayter and Alex Tse, starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Patrick Wilson, Malin Akerman, and Jackie Earle Haley.

Lindelof took to Instagram, posting a photo of what looks like the writer’s room featuring the bottom half a Nite Owl statue with the simple caption, “Day One.” Check out the photo below.
