Are you ready to rise up, witches? Netflix has just dropped the first trailer for their new Riverdale sister show Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and it looks like it’s going to be a delightfully creepy Halloween binge!
Starring Kiernan Shipka in the titular role of Sabrina Spellman, the wicked series will follow the half mortal/half witch as she struggles to find which path she wants to lead all while protecting her town of Greendale from the dark forces lurking about.
It looks to have all the makings of a fun teen drama, in the same vein of Riverdale. A small town, good friends, cute boys and a whole lot of shenanigans. On the human side, she’s got her boyfriend Harvey Kinkle (Ross Lynch) who remains blissfully unaware of her double life and her two best friends Susie (Lochlan Watson) and Rosalind (Jaz Sinclair).
On supernatural side, she’s got her Aunt Hilda (Lucy Davis) and Zelda (Miranda Otto) and her cousin Ambrose (Chance Perdomo). Together, the three will do their best to both protect and guide Sabrina.
Of course, the kids at the Academy of the Dark Arts are orbiting Sabrina as well including the Weird Sisters, who are looking totally badass.
The series has promised to put a darker spin on the beloved teenage witch story, and while the high school drama is all good and fun in the trailer, the creep and spook factor is certainly there as well.
Nothing but respect for our Queen Witch:
Overall, the series looks amazing and thankfully already has a two-season order from Netflix because we have a feeling Sabrina and the gang are going to be our next obsession!

Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
