It’s here! The moment we have all been waiting months for has finally arrived! The very first trailer for the new Jumanji film dropped on Thursday and we could not be more excited!
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kevin Heart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan as the adult version of their childhood selves who get sucked into a video game full of stampeding rhinos, angry hippos, and of course, the ultimate challenge of figuring out how to get back home.
The trailer uses the obvious choice of using Guns N’ Roses Welcome to the Jungle as the theme but, it actually fits perfectly with the action scenes featured. The film clearly isn’t trying to just recreate the wheel by simply rebooting the first film but rather, as Johnson has said all along, they are paying homage to the original with what will hopefully be a fun flick, all on its own. Overall, the movie looks funny, a little bit goofy and over the top at times but, there definitely are some awesome action scenes featured as well. It’s a bit of a stretch from the original which could be a good thing. If the film maintains a good balance of all three of those qualities, this could be a really fun and awesome time for adults and children alike.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is scheduled to premiere on December 20th, 2017. Check out the description and very first trailer for the film below:
“In the brand new adventure Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the tables are turned as four teenagers in detention are sucked into the world of Jumanji. When they discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of, they are immediately thrust into the game’s jungle setting, into the bodies of their avatars, played by Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan. What they discover is that you don’t just play Jumanji -Jumanji plays you. They’ll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, or they’ll be stuck in the game forever…”
