We are exactly one month away from the long awaited return of our favorite fast talking and junk loving duo. Thankfully, the lovely executives over at Netflix provided us with a gift to celebrate the occasion: the official trailer for Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. It’s an amazing three minutes filled with literally all of the emotions and all of the nostalgia. So friends, are you ready to go back to Stars Hollow?
Oy with the poodles already! Check out the trailer below.
The trailer shows our three Gilmore’s each facing personal crossroads. Emily (Kelly Bishop) is challenged with the new life that comes after losing her husband of 50 years. She’s de-cluttering, having wall size portraits of Richard made, and just when you think you’ve seen it all, Emily Gilmore rocks a pair of jeans.
I know a lot of focus has been on what will happen with Lorelai and Luke or who Rory will end up with (if anyone at all), but after seeing this preview I think that it’s safe to say that Emily will have the most rewarding and greatest story of the revival. How can you not get a little misty when you see her standing there at Richard’s funeral? Plus, Kelly Bishop looks AMAZING.
Rory’s (Alexis Bledel) been living her own Kerouac chapter of life as she searches for a career, a purpose, and a place to put some roots…could she maybe find it at Chilton Academy?
Lorelai (Lauren Graham) has everything she could want. She’s got her own business, her town, a great relationship with her daughter and boyfriend, and yet she still feels like there is more out there for her. The girls are back in their favorite place together, up to their old antics, and it’s like we never even left Stars Hollow.
But it’s not all about the ladies! The whole gang is back…Kirk even shows up at a Friday Night Dinner! We’ve got Sookie, Michel, Luke, Dean, Jess, Logan, Taylor, Babette, Miss Patti, Lane, Mrs. Kim and more all making appearances.
And if all of those lovable loony toons don’t bring you back to the Gilmore world, then you’ll be happy to hear that the town of Stars Hollow is looking quirky as ever as Carole King’s iconic soundtrack “Where You Lead” plays in the background.
It is the perfect trailer and the perfect assurance that this revival is going to be exactly what we needed.
All four 90 minutes episodes of Netflix’s Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life premieres Friday, Nov. 25.
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
