In case you haven’t heard the awesome news yet, Queen just announced a massive US tour kicking off this summer with Adam Lambert on board as front man for the band.

Earlier this week, on The Late Late Show, host James Corden was speaking about the Queen tour in his opening monologue.  Corden told his audience how he always dreamed of being a front man for the legendary rock band.  He said:

“In my head growing up I thought that I would always make a great front man for Queen.  I’m not saying I would be a better front man than [Lambert]; I’m just saying I would be a better front man than him.”

With that, Lambert emerged from backstage to challenge Corden to a sing-off for the coveted front man spot.  When Corden tried to dodge the challenge by saying they couldn’t do it because Queen wasn’t actually there, Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor magically materialized from behind the stage curtain.

The music started up and Lambert struck first in the battle with a stirring rendition of We Will Rock You.  Admittedly, Lambert did a great job with the song.  He is, by no means, Freddie Mercury but, he holds his own.

Corden called Lambert’s performance “amateur hour” before breaking out into Don’t Stop Me Now.

In the end, it was Lambert’s performance of Another One Bites the Dust that sealed the deal and caused Corden to finally admit defeat.

The two called a truce and ended the sing-off with a duet of Somebody to Love.  If you’re a fan of Queen, you’re definitely going to want to check out this epic sing-off showdown!
