‘The Walking Dead’ Episode 9×10 Title Revealed, Synopsis Released

With The Walking Dead’s mid-season premiere just nine days away on February 10th (or February 3rd if you subscribe to AMC Premiere!) details have begun to emerge as to what fans should expect after that heart wrenching ending to episode 9×8 as information on both episode 9×9 and 9×10 has recently been released.
We previously wrote about episode 9×9 here, so check that link out for a brief description of what to expect.
Episode 9×10 will be called “Omega,” and promises to quickly dive into the infamous Whisperers storyline from Robert Kirkman’s comics when it is released on February 17th. The official synopsis states, “A new arrival at the Hilltop opens up about the leader of a group of mask-wearing savages. A search party sets out on a daring mission to find two missing friends.”
It may be interesting to note that the synopsis seems to skirt around naming the new villains the Whisperers, although if that is intentional or not is yet to be seen.
For comic fans, it will be interesting to watch the Whisperers arc unfold as the set up is extremely different in the comics, with Rick (who departed the show in episode 9×5) playing a major part in the comic’s storyline, taking on both Alpha (played by Samantha Morton from Harlots & Fantastic Beasts) and Beta (Ryan Hurst of Sons of Anarchy fame). It seems safe to assume that Rick’s role will be given to another character, most likely Daryl. Although it is possible that it will become spread out between Michonne, Aaron and the other remaining survivors.
It seems like The Walking Dead fans are in for a wild ride when the season resumes next week. While you wait for the mid-season premiere you can check out some recently released promo pictures here!
