Joshua Mikel played bad dude Jared on The Walking Dead, but in real life he’s a nice guy supporting multiple charities.
Actor Joshua Mikel is one of the many celebrity guests signing autographs and taking photos with fans this weekend at Walker Stalker Con Atlanta. Josh will also be part of a Savior themed panel on Saturday at the convention.
Stopping at Josh’s autograph table is actually more of an event. Josh takes time to really visit with each of his fans. He has prints of his “Drawlloween” art available for purchase. Each print is numbered and comes with the actor’s signature. Josh is also planning to water color some of the black and white prints.
There’s more! Mikel is hosting a silent auction with a plethora of cool items from The Walking Dead. Stop by to place a bid on signed Topps trading cards, signed copies of sides from Jared scenes in The Walking Dead, a limited edition crew t-shirt and so much more. Check in frequently to update your bids. Proceeds will benefit a variety of charities including the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Sierra Club, The Humane Society and ACLU.
Joshua also offers a complimentary copy of his signed “Thank You” artwork to anyone in the following amazing service industries:
- HVAC Technicians
- Retired and Active Military
- Special Education teachers
- Speech Language Pathologists
- Social Workers
- First Responders
The artwork boasts a zombified version of Jared along with a big note of thanks to folks who give so much back to our community.
Plus, you never know who else you might see at Josh’s booth. When I paid the actor a visit, both Jayson Warner Smith and Karl Makinen stopped by and stepped in on some photos. You will recall that Jayson played reluctant Savior Gavin who tried his best to keep Jared in line, but unfortunately Jared could not be tamed. Karl’s character Richard from the Kingdom had more than one tumultuous encounter with Jared, but the actors are chums in real life.
It is great to see a successful young actor like Joshua Mikel giving back to his fans and supporting charity. Well done, Josh!
