Last week’s season premiere of Vikings provided us with plenty of questions, and the stage for the first battle between two intense leaders was set.
In the preview below for the second episode titled “Homeland,” we first see Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen) and a mystery lady. He has no allies and seems to be looking to the gods for their help which requires a sacrifice. Will this lady give herself up for his cause?
It is also apparent that the rift between Ivar and Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith) continues to grow. Bishop Heahmund (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) and Ivar the Boneless look like they will finally meet in battle and it is sure to be epic!
Additionally, Astrid (Josefin Asplund) arrives at King Harald’s (Peter Franzén) kingdom, and it looks less than appealing. In fact, it looks like utter hell and chaos. We still don’t know if the King’s proposal is enough to make her turn against Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick), but it should be interesting to watch how she will navigate her way through this predicament.
Watch the preview for “Homeland” below.
The official description of the episode is listed as follows.
Celebrations are cut short in the aftermath of the battle at York. Ragnar Lothbrok’s sons are pitted against each other as tensions reach an all-time high and each is forced to choose a side.
Entertainment Weekly also posted an exclusive clip of Bishop Heahmund’s counterattack on the Viking army. Ivar appears like a maniac taunting Bishop Heahmund. The two have set their sights on each other and it will be a brutal road until one of them can claim victory.
Vikings airs on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST on History.
