Victor Garber Leaving ‘Legends of Tomorrow’

It looks like we’re about to be down one-half of a Firestorm at some point this season.

Deadline is reporting that Victor Garber is leaving Legends of Tomorrow. He is set to leave sometime during season three. The news of his departure comes after Garber was recently announced as the latest addition to Broadway’s Hello, Dolly! where he was set to replace David Hyde Pierce beginning in January.

The foundation for his exit was seemingly set in last night’s Legends season three premiere where it was announced that Stein’s daughter, Lily was pregnant. Stein rejoined the Legends on the express condition that he would take time off when his grandchild is born, to get to be a grandfather.

Garber joined the Arrowverse, first appearing as Martin Stein and Firestorm on The Flash, while Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell) had played the other half. He later became one of the inaugural members of Legends of Tomorrow, joined by his new Firestorm counterpart Jefferson Jackson (Franz Drameh).

With Garber set to begin his Broadway run in January, the question now becomes how Legends of Tomorrow will deal with the departure of Martin Stein as a member of the team and one-half of Firestorm. It also seems like that means that however he leaves the team, it will probably be around crossover or midseason finale time.

What do you think of the departure? How do you think the team will take his exit? How do you think we will be saying goodbye to Doctor Martin Stein?

Legends of Tomorrow airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on the CW.
