Fan Fest News was fortunate (and slightly frightened) to take part in an immersive live experience at the McKittrick Hotel located a few blocks from NYCC’s home base at the Jacob Javits Center. The supernatural soiree allowed guests to be inducted into the Leap Year Society as they united in an effort to unleash the unknown. Have a look…
The journey began on a red-hued dimly lit elevator ride followed by a mysterious ceremony, a black pill (to ensure our safety), unified chanting and having a shroud placed over our heads. The group then linked arms as we were guided blindly to our destination where the significance of our participation explained by those in charge.
In a chamber filled with relics, we were invited to investigate our surroundings and mingle with our fellow members.
I and one other were selected to go on an adventure. We were stealthily led through long corridors and stairwells, eventually finding ourselves in the depths of the McKittrick Hotel where a man sat waiting to inform us of a defector within our group. It was our mission to find them. “Beware the one with dead eyes”, we were told.
Eventually, we were led back to the group and participated in opening a hidden door, never forgetting to be wary of the defector among us.
Upon entering the newly revealed room, members gathered around in a disturbing ritual that broke barriers and raised the dead, one where fear was reflected. A fear that brought forth unexpected chaos, forcing us to retreat, leaving us to wonder.
While the final experiment did not go exactly as planned, we understand that the search for answers to life’s mysteries is formidable. The question is… Are you up to the task?
Thank you to Reflector Entertainment for organizing this phenomenal event! A truly once in a lifetime experience that I will not soon forget. May we find what we seek and change the world forever.
