Twin Peaks: Teaser Trailer Has New Look and Familiar Faces

After more than 25 years since the cancellation of the original series on ABC, Twin Peaks is set to return as a limited series event on Showtime. A series of trailers were released but all had a lack of footage making it frustrating for anxious fans. But frustration is part of the Twin Peaks charm.

Finally, the network released a teaser trailer with actual footage and we are also rewarded with a single word of dialogue. Yes, you heard that right, ONE SINGLE WORD. A whole word!!! YAY!!

The trailer also brings us some very familiar faces. Check out the trailer below.

That’s right! If you are a fan then you recognized Big Ed Hurley (Everett McGill), Carl Rodd (Harry Dean Stanton), Sarah Palmer (Grace Zabriskie), Deputy Andy Brennen (Harry Goaz), Deputy Tommy “Hawk” Hill (Michael Horse), and it wouldn’t be Twin Peaks without FBI agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan).

The series will feature an outrageous array of returning cast as well as new, including Miguel Ferrer, Jim Belushi, Michael Cera, Naomi Watts, Josh McDermitt, Kimmy Robertson, Amy Shiels, Dana Ashbrook, Robert Knepper, James Marshall, Chrysta Bell, Tim Roth, Laura Dern, Monica Bellucci, Ashley Judd, Amanda Seyfried, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Ernie Hudson, Jeremy Davies, Derek Mars, Matthew Lillard, David Koechner, Tom Sizemore, Ethan Suplee, Sara Paxton, Trent Reznor, Eddie Vedder, Richard Chamberlain, Charlene Yi, Caleb Landy Jones, Jane Levy, and Robert Forster. Widely considered one of the most groundbreaking and influential broadcast series of all time, TWIN PEAKS followed the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town who were stunned after their homecoming queen Laura Palmer was shockingly murdered. The town’s sheriff welcomed the help of FBI agent Dale Cooper, who came to town to investigate the case. As Cooper conducted his search for Laura’s killer, the town’s secrets were gradually exposed. The mystery that ensued set off an eerie chain of events that plunged the inhabitants of Twin Peaks into a darker examination of their very existence. Twenty-five years later, the story continues…

Showtime’s Twin Peaks will premiere with all new episodes airing at 9 pm on May 21, 2017.
